Last weekend, we came together to celebrate 10 incredible years of Peelbergen – a decade that transformed a shared vision into a world-class equestrian home. What once started with a cup of coffee between Emile Hendrix and a few visionary minds has grown into a centre that welcomes athletes, partners, and friends from across the globe.
The celebration took place on our indoor terrace overlooking the main arena, an elegant yet cozy setting where everyone who has played a part in the Peelbergen story gathered once again. As horses jumped and winners were crowned in the CSI ring, inside, stories, laughter, and memories made it truly feel like a reunion of the Peelbergen (extended) family.
The evening featured speeches from Ken Ruysen, Managing Director of Peelbergen, Ryan Palmen, Mayor of Horst aan de Maas, Sophie Hinners, international rider, and founders and board members Emile Hendrix and Marco Zeekaf. Each shared their own reflections on how Peelbergen has evolved, what it stands for, and where it’s heading next.
A particularly touching moment came with a tribute to Marco Zeekaf, one of Peelbergen’s founding figures, recognized for his unwavering commitment and vision. As Emile Hendrix expressed it so powerfully:
“Without Marco Zeekaf, this would probably never have been realized, and it wouldn’t look the way it does today.”
The sporting highlight of the night was the 10 Bars for 10 Years Show Class, ending with a spectacular victory by Loewie Joppen and Celebrate, clearing an impressive 1.90 meters. A fitting way to honour a decade of setting the bar higher, year after year.
The evening also carried a strong sense of purpose. Together with our partners Scelta Mushrooms and Seacon Logistics, we proudly handed over a donation of €11,400 to Parapaard Fonds Gehandicaptensport, supporting riders with disabilities and promoting inclusivity within the sport.
Looking back, we got the chance to reflect on the past ten years before stepping confidently into our second decade, knowing we’ve surpassed every goal we set for ourselves and are ready to aim even higher.
Peelbergen celebrates 10 incredible years, and we want to express our deepest gratitude to all who made it possible.
